So even if you disagree with my stance on policies or whatever, stick around. You will probably find something to agree with or to care enough to disagree with. And that's the point: discussing issues that matter.
The world is crazy. As in utterly irrational, incomprehensible, frustrating, and terrifying. Beyond the fact that Murphy's Law pops up countless times every day, people are inherently illogical.
We make bad decisions, knowing full well they are going to cause us harm, and blithely stride forward, confident that hubris and keeping our eyes closed will see us through to success.
But we still have responsibilities as citizens, both to educate ourselves (like by reading and creating this brilliant presentation of the jobs crisis) and to hold our government accountable to us when politicians do stupid things that hurt the country (cough cough Tea Partiers dragging us through the mud this entire past session) in pursuit of some other personal gain.
So that's what I want to talk about - this crazy, crazy world we love so much, in the context of real world events and what I think are obvious needs.
I'l leave you with a little bit about me.
I'm the guy saying give away my money. Like I want this to be other people after the government taxes me.
If 99 people get to leach off the system and be lazy so that it can support one mom who can't afford healthcare or education for her two kids despite working two jobs, and that's where my money is going, I'm happy.
I am also a democrat, tentatively. I think President Obama has done a pretty good job and he's the best option for 2012. By far.
On the other hand, I think members of our government were complicit attack on the World Trade Center in 2001. It was like letting the Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor so they wouldn't know we cracked their communications code, except members of our government just wanted war in the Middle East so they could generate big defense contracts and secure affordable access to crude oil.
So yeah - consummate conspiracy theorist and very liberal. Strap in.
